These hands-on sessions will dive into what hiring teams in science\, technology\, engineering\, and math fields are looking for on a resume—highlighting essential keywords\, formatting strategies\, and how to effectively showcase relevant skills and experiences based on real industry expectations. \nWhat’s Happening:\n-Interactive resume workshops tailored to specific STEM industries\, with direct input from employers on what makes a resume stand out.\n-Interviewing skills session to help students feel prepared and confident.\n-STEM Industry Panel exploring career pathways\, current trends\, and how to build a professional network.\n-Open networking with industry professionals and hiring representatives. \nAdvance registration is required due to limited space. DESCRIPTION:With the ability to reach audiences who are interested in specific topics all over the world\, podcasting has become a huge part of today’s media. Local media professionals Justinian Dispenza (Andover Media) and Aaron Maloney (Blue Room Media) will guide you through the steps of how to get started on your podcasting journey. \nFilled with humor and lots of interaction\, this 2-hour workshop will teach you about the equipment that’s available in KCPL’s Creator Studio Podcasting Kit\, how to set up a podcasting studio in any location\, dos and don’ts for starting a podcast\, how to best light and set up your smartphone to film your podcast\, a basic guide on editing the footage and audio\, and how to upload and share your podcast with your audiences across the internet. \nYou’ll have a chance to explore the contents of the Creator Studio Podcasting Kit\, which is now available as part of KCPL’s Library of Things! \nBring your smart phone (if you have one)\, a device or notebook to take notes\, your questions\, and a brief outline of your podcast idea (if you have one). \nIf you don’t yet have a podcast topic or if you’re curious to learn about the kit for voice over or other audio work\, that’s fine! We’ll have a list of topics for you to pick from for the exercises in the workshop. \nAges 18+ \nTeens (14+) are also welcome. \nRegistration required. \nThis event and KCPL’s Creator Studio Kit collection are made possible thanks to generous grant funding from the Upper Shore Regional Council in 2025. \nThis initiative is also supported by a partnership between Kent County Public Library and Kent County Government.

This is the event for you as the events goal is to promote STEM related organizations\, careers\, and degrees. \nThis years exhibitors include:\nUMES Professors from all STEM disciplines\nNASA Wallops Island\nPocomoke State Forrest\nNational Aquarium’s Animal Rescue Division\nAnd more…\nThe 2025 University of Maryland Eastern Shore Extension 4-H STEM Expo coordinated by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Extension 4-H STEM faculty/staff will be held on Saturday\, October 18th \, 2025\, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This event will once again be held inside (limited outside space could be used upon request) the UMES Engineering & Aviation Science Complex on campus in Princess Anne\, Maryland. \nWe invite you or a representative from your organization/department to offer an interactive exhibit at this year’s event. The UMES Extension 4-H STEM Festival is part of the broader Maryland STEM Festival\, whose statewide theme is “Energy” (do not worry about following this theme for our event). We ask all exhibitors to have an interactive display/activity station that promotes STEM related careers/degrees that your organization is connected to or meets the statewide theme. Our focus is youth in K-12 and families with past festival years drawing from 175 to 400 participants. \nEach exhibitor will be supplied with a table and 2 chairs (more tables or chairs available upon request). If you need electricity for your table\, please let us know through the JotForm below. The event starts at 10:00 am and we ask you to have your exhibit/activity set up by 9:30 am on October 18th 2025.
