DESCRIPTION:Lyons Mill Elementary School STEAM Night\nIgniting a passion for Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, Art\, and Mathematics in every learner \nLyons Mill Elementary School\, home to over 700 curious and creative students\, proudly invites families and community partners to our annual STEAM Night — a celebration of innovation\, problem solving\, and hands-on learning. This exciting evening event is designed to bring families together as they explore the wonders of Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, Art\, and Math through interactive stations and real-world experiences. \nStudents and their families will rotate through a variety of hands-on activities\, including building challenges\, coding games\, engineering tasks\, makerspace creations\, and artistic design opportunities — all designed to spark creativity and encourage collaboration. In addition to our staff-led stations\, outside vendors and community organizations will be on site to provide enriching demonstrations\, STEM career connections\, and engaging educational experiences that highlight cutting-edge tools\, technology\, and resources. \nSTEAM Night at Lyons Mill is more than an event — it’s an experience that showcases how curiosity\, perseverance\, and critical thinking come together to shape the future. We are thrilled to partner with community supporters as we open our doors to families for a night of exploration\, discovery\, and fun.

DESCRIPTION:Explore the exciting world of synthetic biology with the Baltimore Underground Science Space’s Baltimore BioCrew iGEM team! We will build a double helix and discover an error in DNA sequencing to learn how synthetic biology may cure a disease. Then we’ll experiment with agar art by “painting” with yeast that has been modified to express color.
