News!

On MLK Weekend, 21 teams from Baltimore, Annapolis, Rockville, Towson and Greenbelt Maryland gathered for a two-day Vex Robotics Competition. Volunteers, including our Festival Director, Phil Rogofsky,  traveled from near and far to help bring together the Baltimore Robotics Center's 7th annual, Have a Dream Tournament. However, this year's event did not take place in the Baltimore Robotics Center as it has in the past. In partnership with MAG Partners we were able to host this year's competition in the Baltimore Sun Newspaper building.

In this season's game, teams are tasked with attaining a higher score than the opposing Alliance by scoring Discs in Goals, taking possession of Rollers, and finding innovative ways to cover as many field tiles as possible at the end of the Match. In the end, the High Tech Parrots from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and Area 53 Alien Raiders from Greenbelt took home the Tournament Championship Trophies and are on their way to the State Championship! In addition, several other awards were awarded to several other teams for overall robot design and for excelling in the driving/programming skills challenge, which also qualifies them for the State Championship.
