The Maryland STEM Festival had a booth at the 10^th Awesome Con from June 16^th -18^th. It was held at the Water Washington Convention Center in DC.  If you have never been to Awesome Con it is a celebration of Pop Culture, Comic Books, Sci Fi and Science. it is an unbelievable collection of vendors, discussions and most importantly cosplayers. Some of the stars of the Con were Billy Dee William, LaVar Burton, Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Karen Gillan and Jodie Whitaker. Tens of thousands of people attended this event over the three days.

We brought our video game Agrownomics, Legos and a Festival’s stickers, bookmarks and bracelets. This was the Festival’s first time at Awesome Con and we were thrilled to have so many parents and students drop by our table to play our game and with our Legos and talk about the Festival. Our booth was by booths hosted by NASA, the FBI, the Museum of Science Fiction, the National Science Foundation, Boys Scouts, and the Marine Corp. We chatted with representatives from these organizations, some of which are expected to participate in the Festival.

Phil Rogofsky, our Founder and Executive Director was there for the full weekend. Justin Graves from STEAM Your Dreams was also there for each of the three days. They brought several of their video games. Tony Powell, Agrownomics developer, Justin Park, Chris McGranahan and Noah Rogofsky were each there for one day of the Con. Phil got his picture taken with LaVar Burton. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words so check out the picture’s below. Next year’s Awesome Con will be held March 8^th through March 10^th and we hope to be part of this amazing event next year with even more activities.
