What is Participatory Science?

November 15 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

For ages 8 – 18. Join 4-H Environmental Educator Torrey Silliman as we learn what happens when ordinary people study the world around them. We’ll learn about a few different participatory science projects and where to find something that interests you! Come prepared by downloading Merlin and the iNaturalist app to your smartphone or tablet. No phone? No worries! We have 8 iPads available to borrow on a first come, first served basis.

Optional Trip to Charlotte’s Quest Nature Center: Participants are welcome to attend an optional extension at Charlotte’s Quest. We’ll meet from 3 to 4 PM and use Merlin and iNaturalist to help us share the diversity of species around us! A parent or guardian must stay with their child at all times.
