Leonardo Da Vinci Day

Da Vinci Day is the BIT Center’s annual STEM and arts festival for middle and high school students. The event brings together schools, educators, community organizations, local businesses, and families for a day of hands-on learning inspired by the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci. Students participate in workshops, engineering and design challenges, interactive exhibits, and presentations from professionals working in STEM, the arts, and related fields.

The centerpiece of the event is an interscholastic competition, where student teams work together to solve a design challenge and present their solutions to a panel of professional judges. Teams will assemble the famous Da Vinci bridge out of wood. The winning team’s school receives a $1,000 grant to support its STEM, arts, or innovation programs, helping bring new opportunities back to the students.

Throughout the day, vendors and community partners host activities, share resources, and introduce students to educational and career opportunities. By connecting students with professionals and organizations from across the region, Da Vinci Day encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration while celebrating the lasting influence of Leonardo da Vinci and the connections between science, technology, engineering, art, and Italian culture.
