Maryland STEM Festival

Makerspaces are places to work, learn, create, and play. They are popping up throughout Maryland and increasingly becoming an important part of our communities.

Makerspaces give people of all ages opportunities to turn ideas into reality—from programmable robots and circuit boards to 3D printing, woodworking, electronics, and more. They are places where people can learn, experiment, create, collaborate, and innovate.

Governor Wes Moore and his administration recognize the value of makerspaces and the communities they support. Through significant investments, the State of Maryland has shown its commitment to this growing, creative community.

Recognizing the importance of makerspaces, Governor Wes Moore has proclaimed October 17 as Maryland Maker Day!

This is a wonderful opportunity for Marylanders of all ages to discover the creativity, innovation, and diversity found in makerspaces throughout our state.
