Maryland STEM Festival Closing-Astronaut Don Thomas, FIRST Lego League and FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics

The Maryland STEM Festival closes with a bang!  The event will take place in two locations at Howard Community College (HCC). In Duncan Hall, Howard County Chinese School has 8 robotics teams, including 2 Pre-FIRST Lego League teams, 3 FIRST Lego League competition teams, and 3 FIRST Tech Challenge teams conducting various STEM-related demonstrations and activities.

The Science Engineering and Technology (SET) will have more FTC robotic teams, engineers, engineering organizations, Ghostbuster cosplayers, and former astronaut Don Thomas.  Representatives from Maryland Space Business Roundtable, General Dynamics, IEEE, the University of Maryland’s Department of Fire Protection Engineering, HCC Department of Engineering, and the American Society of Naval Engineers will be hosting tables to discuss the engineering field.  The SET Agenda is

  • 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Demonstrations, Activities, and Exhibits
  • 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM: Remarks by former astronaut Don Thomas and Phil Rogofsky, Festival Executive Director
  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Pizza and Cookies
