Comments from Annapolis Middle School participants
I thought it was cool, especially the lady who brought in the rocks. She said she was a student at UMD and that she is studying to be a geologist like her mom. – B.A., 6th grader
Science is one of my favorite subjects, and I got the opportunity to listen to speakers all day. My teacher told me we had a lot of different professionals present, so I’m happy I had the chance to meet them. What stood out to me were the engineers. I learned from a software, chemical, and electrical engineer, and they were all so different, but I liked all of them. H.F, 6th grader
We had a forensic nurse presenting in our science class and she was very nice. Her job seems hard, but interesting, Y.B. 8th grader.
My favorite speaker was the veterinarian. I love animals, and my goal is to go to college to become a veterinarian too- I.R. 8th grader
The NASA engineer was really cool and interesting. She and her husband are both engineers. They were teaching us about how they work with the Government at NASA-S.D. 8th grader.
The event was very well organized, and there were so many diverse speakers. D, visitor
STEM day was great, it was so organized, and the student ambassadors were great. – K.D., event support staff.
