The Maryland STEM Festival, in conjunction with the Community College of Baltimore County, is hosting the eighth Blue Collar STEM Conference on October 19th from 11 AM to 3 PM. The purpose of the conference is to increase awareness of jobs that require STEM skills and expertise but do not necessitate the traditional four-year college path. These jobs span various fields such as manufacturing, healthcare, construction, information technology, and more.

 

Agenda

  • Registration and Networking (11:30-12:00 pm): Connect with industry professionals and fellow attendees. Light refreshments
  • Keynote Speaker and Career Discussion Panel (12:00 – 1:00 PM): Gain insights into the event’s goals and the importance of blue-collar STEM careers.
  • Tour of CCBC facilities (1:00 PM—2:30 PM): Participate in discussions and sessions led by experts in various fields.
  • Job Fair (1:00 PM – 2:30 PM): Explore job opportunities, engage with employers, and benefit from on-the-spot resume reviews and career counseling.
  • Closing Session (2:30 PM): Reflect on the day’s learnings and network further with participants.

The program will begin with a keynote and panel discussion on these jobs, followed by a job fair and demonstrations of CCBC facilities that train for these careers. Invited participants are below. The event is free, but registration is required. Registration will open on September 1.
