The Hackathon is an event where participating kids compete in cyber challenges including python coding, password cracking, internet browsing, and more! The target ages for the event are 8-18, and no previous coding knowledge is necessary! Participants will compete to earn swag and prizes as they learn about a broad variety of cyber security topics!
Ripen the Meristem, Inc. (RTM) is thrilled to invite families throughout Cambridge, Dorchester County, and surrounding communities to our FREE Eats & Experiments STEM Series at the Dorchester County Public Library!
Join us as we explore the wonders of science through four exciting activities:
🟢 Make Slime & Test Strange Materials — October 8
🧪 Make Color-Changing, Foaming, & Fizzing Chemistry — October 22
🍬 Make & Test Candy & Food Experiments — November 11
🧬 Extract Real DNA & Test It With Forensic Tools — November 15
Each session will feature a different hands-on experiment led by a real scientist, Chenere P. Ramsey, PhD, giving children and adults an opportunity to learn, discover, and have fun together!

STEM activities changing Daily at our Makerspace table during branch hours. Ages 5-12
Construct ramps, engineer marble runs, and conduct experiments to find out what rolls, what slides, and how to make things roll faster and further.
Build, test, and invent every Wednesday with a new challenge. Complete the challenge at your own pace utilizing materials such as LEGO, building cubes, circuits, paper and everyday craft supplies.

Join us to learn about the female leaders that built our country 250 years ago. This month we will learn about Abigail Adams and others. The session will include hands-on activities. Ages 6 – 12. Please register.
Ages 11-19! Learn basic touch-ups for photos & images using the freeware program GIMP, available on MCPL’s public PCs and laptops! Cut out a figure and match it to background lighting. SSL & candy!
