  • Holly Hills Fall Festival: Workshops, Volunteer Event, and Open House

    Join Howard EcoWorks on Saturday, September 26, for the Holly Hills Fall Festival, a family-friendly open house celebrating two years of stewardship at our 16-acre headquarters in Glenwood. The festival will feature hands-on activities and demonstrations, including a biochar burn demonstration (weather permitting), a morning native tree nut and seed collection activity, a tree maintenance workshop, and a volunteer forest and tree maintenance activity. Enjoy snacks and birthday cake as we celebrate two years at Holly Hills!

    Throughout the day, visitors can explore the property through self-guided tours, check out our plans for the future, connect with local conservation partners, and shop the Seeds of Change Native Plant Nursery featuring Mid-Atlantic ecotype native perennials, shrubs, and trees.

  • Homeschool STEM Day: STEM Trailblazers: Innovation and Discovery

    Baltimore County 4-H invites everyone to our next homeschool STEM event on October 15th from 1- 3 p.m. at the Ag Center, 1114 Shawan Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030.
    The theme is STEM Trailblazers: Innovation and Discovery. At this event, we will highlight Hispanic STEM pioneers. For this fair-style event, we will highlight the scientist, share their contribution and have hands-on activities to complement the learning. Here are a few hints about topics that may be covered: Nobel Prize Awardee, space, television, and peppers. Activities are more geared to 6- to 18-year-olds.
