Ripen the Meristem, Inc. (RTM) is thrilled to invite families throughout Cambridge, Dorchester County, and surrounding communities to our FREE Eats & Experiments STEM Series at the Dorchester County Public Library!
Join us as we explore the wonders of science through four exciting activities:
🟢 Make Slime & Test Strange Materials — October 8
🧪 Make Color-Changing, Foaming, & Fizzing Chemistry — October 22
🍬 Make & Test Candy & Food Experiments — November 11
🧬 Extract Real DNA & Test It With Forensic Tools — November 15
Each session will feature a different hands-on experiment led by a real scientist, Chenere P. Ramsey, PhD, giving children and adults an opportunity to learn, discover, and have fun together!

✅ Pre-K through 12th grade students and adults welcome
✅ All experiment materials and refreshments provided
✅ Attend one session or all four!

Learn about the chemistry behind polymerization reactions, then experiment with the concepts by making your very own bouncy ball!
Baltimore County 4-H invites everyone to our next homeschool STEM event on October 15th from 1- 3 p.m. at the Ag Center, 1114 Shawan Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030.
The theme is STEM Trailblazers: Innovation and Discovery. At this event, we will highlight Hispanic STEM pioneers. For this fair-style event, we will highlight the scientist, share their contribution and have hands-on activities to complement the learning. Here are a few hints about topics that may be covered: Nobel Prize Awardee, space, television, and peppers. Activities are more geared to 6- to 18-year-olds. Cost: FREE
Ditch the standard bubble wand and experiment to find other items that make bubbles instead. We will be reading stories, singing, and exploring stations using bubbles.
Design a vinegar and baking soda bottle rocket and see how high it will fly.
Come try some inadvisable science experiments! Don’t try these at home. (At least, not without a parent present!)
Bringing art and STEM together, make your own unique creations at different stations. All supplies provided.
Do you love figuring out clues and solving mysteries? Join the fun as we learn some of the STEM techniques used by forensic scientists. These crime scene investigators and scientists study, collect, analyze, and solve crimes. Our fun and challenging library crime scene will be kid-friendly.
Only kids need to register.
Join us for our STEM Exploration Day! Explore a variety of our STEM activiites, we will have stations for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Ages 2-15
