Robots have been a fascinating part of both popular culture and technology for centuries… even from well before the use of the word “robot” itself! Today, they pervade the worlds of both science fiction and science fact, from “Robocop” to rovers on Mars. Join us as astronomer Rich Isaacman leads us on a journey from the earliest fictitious robots to the sophisticated electronic creatures currently exploring the very outermost reaches of our Solar System.
Join the library and Arundel Rivers Federation to get a hands-on demonstration of how we use STEAM to understand our rivers! Participants can test out a dissolved oxygen probe, a refractometer, and get a first hand look at a submersible ROV (remote operated vehicle) used for monitoring oyster reefs.
