This one-day CNC certification class will introduce you to the design basics, machine use, and safety procedures for our new Makera Carvera desktop CNC machine. This class will cover project design utilizing Makera’s congruent software, MakeraCAM, along with other compatible software available at Exploration Commons. There will be a break from 12 to 1 PM between the morning and afternoon sessions.

Join the Robo-Lions, a team of students, as they fire up their robots for Robot Pumpkin Smash! Find out how long it takes a robot to crack open a pumpkin. This program is a collaboration between PIE3 (Partnership in Inspiration for Engineering Education and Entrepreneurship), Robo-Lions, and Carroll County Public Library.
Learn how jigs and templates can make repeat laser projects faster and easier. In this hands-on class, you will make a simple jig for the laser and create a matching template in Adobe Illustrator. Laser certification and familiarity with Adobe Illustrator are required before registering.

Veterans and military enthusiasts, join us in this laser project class as we make a long-standing military tradition, challenge coins! We will use Adobe Illustrator to design a custom challenge coin for laser engraving to take home. No previous design or laser experience necessary.
This is a family friendly event, with a science show and interactive tables on science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM), aimed primarily at elementary and middle school students, but older and younger guests are welcomed!
