Dr. Richard Kelley will tell us about the coldest spectrometer ever to observe the hottest objects in the Universe. He is currently the U.S. Principal Investigator at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) for their instrument contribution to the X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM) spacecraft, a joint mission with Japan.
Join our educators at this hands-on activity where creativity takes flight! This interactive, educator-led program allows visitors to design and build their creations. Part makerspace, part mini-science lesson, this is perfect for budding engineers and aviation enthusiasts. Drop in anytime during the hour to explore the wonders of aviation and technology through play.

We are Montgomery County STEM Volunteer Program, a local non profit organization (501 c3) that places working and retired STEM professionals with MCPS teachers to bring the real world into the classroom to give students a better understanding of what they learn in the classroom and how it applies to the world around them. We are currently recruiting volunteers for the 2026-27 school year and will be holding our new volunteer training/information meeting on Oct 27, 2026, 9.00am-Noon via Zoom (Zoom link available on request).
