Calling all curious kids! Join us each session to explore an interesting topic and learn some cool facts. Children and adults can have fun and get messy together at art and STEM stations. Food and natural items may be present.

We are Montgomery County STEM Volunteer Program, a local non profit organization (501 c3) that places working and retired STEM professionals with MCPS teachers to bring the real world into the classroom to give students a better understanding of what they learn in the classroom and how it applies to the world around them. We are currently recruiting volunteers for the 2026-27 school year and will be holding our new volunteer training/information meeting on Oct 27, 2026, 9.00am-Noon via Zoom (Zoom link available on request). Learn about the chemicals that are found in the cosmetics used to create monsters and zombies in the movies, and then create your own design using DIY monster cosmetics! Taught by a STEAM instructor.

Join us as astronomer Rich Isaacman leads us on a journey from the earliest fictitious robots to the sophisticated electronic creatures currently exploring the very outermost reaches of our Solar System.

Did you know bats can act as pest control, pollinators, or even be gardeners? Join us at Filbert Street Garden for a sunset walk to listen to bats and learn how they help us! Registration is encouraged to secure your spot.
Whoooo knows what an owl eats? Dissect an owl pellet to find out! Explore other aspects of the life of an owl through other fun activities.
