In person information session for high school students interested in engineering majors. Specifically, a major and career that designs solutions to the problem of fire, protecting people, property and the environment from the unwanted affects of fire.
Do you love figuring out clues and solving mysteries? Join the fun as we learn some of the STEM techniques used by forensic scientists. These crime scene investigators and scientists study, collect, analyze, and solve crimes. Our fun and challenging library crime scene will be kid-friendly.

Grand Opening of the Makerspace on Saturday, October 17 from 10 am-2 pm. We will have stations all around the library and we would like to invite everyone to come see the new space and equipment.
Join us for an in-person craft inspired by nature! We will share stories and learn fun facts while making an exciting coyote craft and then go on a nature walk to explore what kind of role coyotes play, look for coyote tracks, and learn about their habitat! Registration required.

Come out to the St. Michaels Library and see the new Makerspace. There will be stations that will have different projects and equipment to try out. The Makerspace has 3D printers, button maker, sticker maker, soldering iron, sewing machine, laminator, jewelry making tools and a Chomp saw. Come have fun at the library!
Dinosaur Park offers a free Open House event from 12-4 pm on Saturday October 17th, during which the public can learn about the plants and animals that called Maryland home during the early Cretaceous Period (115 million years ago)! As part of this community science program, participants are also invited to help us make new discoveries by assisting with fossil surface collecting. Please note that there is no actual digging during this program, rather we simply scour the surface to see what new fossils have been exposed through natural erosion. This program does not require any prior registration. Participants will sign up on site. This program is entirely outdoors and weather dependent, so please keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately. Please check the Dinosaur Park website to confirm the program is not cancelled due to weather.
This is a 4-week robotics program presented by two High School juniors at Walter Johnson High School with a passion for STEM, who have participated in the First Lego League competition for two years.
